This course reviews central sleep apnea (CSA) pathology. It is designed to help clinicians recognize CSA patients and understand the clinical indications for ASV therapy*. The course reviews how ASV helps stabilize breathing and examines pathways to ASV for patients with CSA. Participants will learn the functionality and benefits of ASV guided by the current industry recommendations.
*ASV therapy is contraindicated in patients with chronic, symptomatic heart failure (NYHA 2-4) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF ≤ 45%) and moderate to severe predominant central sleep apnea.
